Since her graduation from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Design in 1984 Østergaard has explored the room and installation as a venue and already back then incorporated furniture in her exhibitions. For this graduation project the outset for the installation of her black and white textile prints was the pipes at the basements of SUB-SET.
